Many drone pilots will have one maybe two types of drones but nowadays Montana Drone Company pilots are equipped with three! We keep ourselves prepared for all of your drone needs by having a variety of drones at our disposal to handle any project.

DJI Phantom 4 Advanced

First up is the drone that has been with us the longest the DJI Phantom 4 Advanced. We started with this drone back when Montana Drone Company first started nearly four years ago. We've loved using it and it has been a great asset to our company. The Phantom 4 Advanced is incredibly stable in high winds, has great battery life, and is capable of reaching distances of three standard miles! We primarily use this drone when we have a larger real estate property to shoot or if we need a bit more speed than our Mavic Air 2 as the Phantom is our second fastest drone. The Phantom is also our go to drone for any of our aerial mapping needs when we are creating topographic maps or partnering with engineering firms to create 3D models! Overall the Phantom is our workhorse/jack of all trades, and while it is our oldest drone it still has a phenomenal camera capable of capturing amazing 4K footage.

DJI Mavic Air 2

Now that we've talked a bit about the drone that's been with us the longest let's talk about my personal favorite, the DJI Mavic Air 2. Why do I love this drone? The portability it offers is un-matched. When we first started Montana Drone Company I used to take the Phantom out back-packing or hiking and it had quite the cumbersom backpack. With the Mavic Air 2 I'm able to easily carry it from place to place as it folds nicely into a portable satchel. This makes it perfect for flying on the go projects or in town as it's low profile makes it less distracting and smaller properllers make for a quieter experience. Don't let it's size fool you though, the Mavic Air 2 has a great camera that can shoot up to 5K footage and even 48mp pictures. Additionally the Mavic Air 2 is our drone for 360 photos. These photos are a great way to get user engagement as you click around to view the area you took the photo in. All in all the Mavic Air 2 has been a great addition to the team and one of my go to drones for anything on the go.

DJI FPV

Now let's talk about speed. While the Mavic tops at 40mph and the Phantom close to it at 47mph the FPV can go an incredible 90mph and 0-60 in less than 2 seconds. We haven't had this drone for very long but we are extremely excited to get to use it for our upcoming racing events such as the Yellow Stone Offroad Racing circuit starting on May 7th. This drone will be primarily used for events and also capturing cinematic videography as it is our only drone capable of capturing banking shots to get unique perspectives. Check back often as we get better and better with these drones more and more content will come up!

So there you have it. Phantom 4 for any large real estate or mapping needs, Mavic Air 2 for portability anything quick or in town, and the FPV drone for when you need speed or to capture amazing 4k cinematic footage. Now you know we are equipped for any of your projects needs so give us a call the next time you need something filmed from a unique perspective!
