Check out some aerial photos taken by our Montana drone pilots in November 2020. Our contest this month was to capture images as the sun went down. Winter is upon us and the days are getting shorter and colder, but our pilots are still out completing projects.
Drone pilots can legally fly 30 minutes after the official sunset on any day. We can of course apply for a flight waiver to fly at night which requires us to install the light beacon on our drones for safety. In Montana during November the sun sets around 5pm MST and only gets earlier the closer to December we get. Montana continuously provides amazing sunsets are in most areas the alpenglow can be seen on the mountain ranges during these last rays of the day.
